Girls' Cross Country (Head Coach - Josiah Hopkins)

Every week run a variety of two or three of the following workouts:- 10-20 x 100m strides with 100m jog; alternate straights and curves on a track if you have access to one.

  • 8-12 x 200m strides with 200m jog.

  • 8-14 laps of stopwatch fartlek: stride 15 seconds, jog 45 seconds to recover.

  • 3-5 miles progression run, building to a last mile at cross country pr pace + 45 seconds.

Fill the rest of your miles with easy conversational runs. make the final week before practice a rest week, with just a few easy runs, totaling half your normal mileage.
